Worship & Music Groups

The adult choir is the primary group that assists in leading worship at First Baptist Church.  Becoming a part of the choir is easy.  There is no audition.  Just come to a rehearsal!  The choir leads in worship most Sunday mornings and during other special services throughout the year.  In addition, the choir usually does one major production during the Christmas season.  The choir typically rehearses on Sunday afternoons at 4:30 or on Wednesday nights at 7:00.  Check the weekly newsletter or worship bulletin for exact times.

These are the people you see each week with microphones.  Worship singers and soloists are highly motivated and committed singers chosen from active members of the music ministry by invitation through an audition process.  Contact our music minister for more information.

Our worship band is made up of volunteer musicians from within the church who are highly motivated and committed to leading worship.  If you play guitar, bass, drums, percussion or keyboard and would like to be a part of this group, please contact our music minister.

These are the folks work behind the scenes to make sure that our sound, lighting, multi-media and video recording and production is done with excellence.  We use a large group of volunteers on a rotating system and are always looking for new volunteers, regardless of your experience!  If you would like more information about this important ministry, contact any member of the ministerial staff.

The youth worship band includes singers as well as instrumentalists.  This group practices on Wednesday afternoons at 4:30 and leads the youth worship services on Wednesday nights.  Membership is by invitation and may involve an audition and/or an interview with our vocal coach and/or our youth minister.  Contact Scott Lowrey, minister of youth, if you are interested.

Children's Music and Worship is part of our children's GROW discipleship rotation on Wednesday nights from 5:30 to 7:00.  In addition to learning music fundamentals, our kids are also prepared  to occasionally assist the adult choir and worship team in leading worship on Sunday mornings and in special services.  Contact Missy Hudspeth, children's minister, for more information.
