Matt and I have been so blessed with our family. God has given us three grown sons, and a daughter. They have been such a joy to us.  We now have a daughter-in-law, and two grands who we think are pretty amazing. We love when they get to come home!

We absolutely loved our years enjoying our children at home, but with our kids out on their own, we are enjoying this new phase of life and ministry.  We are learning who we are and what God wants us to do in this new phase.

In 2021 we moved to Matt’s family farm close to church and are enjoying this new adventure.  

Matt and I met in the music department at Hinds Community College in Raymond. We were music nerds who loved Jesus, and knew pretty quickly that we were meant to do life together.

I was born in Tupelo, MS, and spent a few years in middle school in Texas, but mostly grew up in Clinton, MS.

I graduated from Ole Miss with a Bachelor of Music with a K-12 Vocal Music Education emphasis. I later became certified from Mississippi College to teach English as a Second Language. Teaching children and working with families has been my life’s work. I’ve always been led to work with children in every church we’ve been a part of, and now am so excited to be able to serve as Children’s and Family Minister here at First Baptist.

I love being at the farm with Matt, drinking a good cup of coffee, or playing with our dogs- some good Mexican food- FaceTiming my mom, our children, and, of course, our grandchildren- Having a good talks with our kids and friends, watching movies- traveling with our family when we can- cooking and  watching renovation shows and love dreaming up new projects- Making music and leading worshiping with Matt and our kids over the years has been just about my favorite thing to do.

I love doing ministry with the wonderful people at First Baptist because they are so ready and willing to do whatever needs to be done to share Jesus with our kids, families, and community. They are humbly willing to use their gifts for God’s kingdom. I love working with our staff as well! Their passion for God and for our church is contagious. I’m excited about what new adventures God will bring to us to share Jesus with our community as we continue to be grounded in Him.

I am grateful to always be reminded by God that my life and eternity with Him is all about His sacrifice and redeeming work on the cross. I’m comforted to know that there  is never anything I can do to earn or lose my salvation and it’s my joy to walk out this salvation journey with Him.
